Most movie DVDs are longer than the 4.7GB capacity limit of a DVD+/-R media. You will need dvdshrink to further compress the video contents to make things fit. As mentioned before, dvdshrink is a windows program but can be used under wine, but dvdshrink later than 3.0beta won't work.
