I need to print off a copy of the startup log. I just recovered my system from a backup from before I made some partition modifications to my disk setup and am getting errors. The messages roll by so fast I can't read the first ones. I tried looking at a file called /boot/grub/message, but it appears to be compressed. In any case, what's in that file is not text formatted.
Thanks, Greg Wallace
also try /var/log/messages

Hi, There is a YAST2 module to view almost all of the log and proc files. Go to ControlCenter > YAST2 modules > MISC > View StartUp Logs or View System Logs.
