How to you read/print the start-up log?
I need to print off a copy of the startup log. I just recovered my system from a backup from before I made some partition modifications to my disk setup and am getting errors. The messages roll by so fast I can't read the first ones. I tried looking at a file called /boot/grub/message, but it appears to be compressed. In any case, what's in that file is not text formatted. Thanks, Greg Wallace

Greg,
try /var/log/boot.msg.
Michael
I looked at that earlier and the last messages didn't seem to be there, but that was when I was having a problem with the boot process itself. Now that that' straightened out, those messages may well be in there. I'll take a look now. Thanks, Greg W.

Hi, There is a YAST2 module to view almost all of the log and proc files. Go to ControlCenter > YAST2 modules > MISC > View StartUp Logs or View System Logs.
