saying "Doug's Computer" on the monitor perhaps. I bet MS will change it in Longhorn, breaking the barrier to calling it something less corny.
I wonder. They've only been building on it so far: "My Pictures," "My Movies," "My Documents," "My Music"
I share Doug's annoyance with this. I paid for this computer (enough that I wouldn't forget it anytime soon). I know it's mine and it's one of my favourite possession. Anyone trying to change that have got to be careful. So of course the stuff on it is mine. Who else's would it be?
I guess I'm not part Microsoft's main target audience. I'm just saddened that SUSE took up this intellectually derogatory practice too.
I think they could have used just a tiny bit of imagination in their choice, but you can call it whatever you like. I've just done the upgrade from 9.0 x86_64, when I click on that icon which I have now renamed the much nicer "Main Gate To Hell", maybe "Gateway To Heaven" later or "Command Post", "Configuration Cent-re/er" or anything but "My Puter", it has drives:// and displays 3 Icons for my CD-RW/DVD in the window it opens up. Another funny, # grub-install /dev/hda /usr/lib/stage1 no such file or directory ------------------------------------------- I copied all the stage files from /boot/grub to /usr/lib and it was happy. I shall see what happens tomorrow when I upgrade the 32-bit boxes. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.
