Any advice or experiences?
Speaking to myself I guess ...
Installed using the old Radeon Rage drivers, it works but doesn't take advantage of the features.
Downloaded ATI's 9600 Linux drivers, run their RPM and now I can't get SaX2 working - starts properly and then disappears while (end of) building cddb.

Hans, Read the Readme files that come with your ATI Drivers or from the site. If you decide to use the ATI drivers than you have to use all their setup tools as well. If you try to use Sax2, you will kill everything the ATI drivers try to do. If you are running SuSE 9.0, then let SuSE & Sax2 do everything for you as that card is supported in 9.0, even 3D! All of the later kernels, 2.4.21 from SuSE contain the fglrx ATI module already, so there is no real need to use the ATI drivers now.
