Like trying to print postscript files from Konqueror?
Quite possible. Try it and see. If it doesn't work you can always revert
This may be the source of the problem I had with OpenOffice,
Unlikely. I don't think OO relies on gv. There are also settings for ghostscript. (I think you comment out the line in /usr/share/ghostscript/7.05/lib/gsinit.ps starting (a4) by putting a % at the start.) Most printing applications for linux create PostScript and use ghostscript (but not ghostview) to format the output for the printer. Many applications tell ghostscript what paper size to use and you may find that changing this setting has little effect in modern linux versions. For example, the CUPS printer configuration has a default A4 setting, which will probably get passed to ghostscript when most applications try to print. -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.
