Look in /etc/named.conf. I have never used Yast to do this one. Which version is this, mine (8.2) only has DNS and Host Name, which wouldn't be editing named.conf. Maybe you have 9.0 and they have added this capability. Anyway, try editing /etc/named.conf, it is a simple enough change, and easily done following the comments in this file.
I found the forwarders in named.conf(9.0). There is no prepend line though. I'm not sure what file i was editing in Yast2 ... it looks like some of the info is in named.conf but some must be somewhere else. They've added alot to yast, not sure if that's good or bad.
I uncommented this line. There is also more in this file ...
prepend domain-name-servers 127.0.0.1;
This should allow your name server to always be reachable, and it will cache the addresses of your recently used names. HTH
I'll let you know if this works. Thanks -- E.F.Maurer Using SuSE 9.0 Pro
