Hi all, I have a P-II 350Mhz PC with 256MB ram currently running SuSE 7.2 and Samba. It is the file sharing server for a network of 5 Win9X PCs. Some users have saved on their home-directories some .mpg files for their personal usage (which is ok with me as they are small). However, whenever a user tries to view one of these files, the Unix PC after a few seconds crashes and the only way to bring the system back on-line is to hard-boot it (switch off and on again). I have looked at the /var/log/messages file but I see no messages regarding this issue. I have also runned fsck on the hard-drive and there are no errors found. The Network card is an Rtl-8139 which I have configured through YAST and it appears to be ok and everything else is functioning perfectly. The Linux Box is also the internet firewall and router between the internet and the network (the ISDN on the linux is being shared by all other PCs on the network). Can someone tell me of some diagnostics that I can run to see what could possibly be the reason of these crashes?? Thanx friends. Chris
