I've did a (clean) install of suse 8.2 on my box
This bbox has a dvd drive, a cdrecorder (hda and hdb aka sr0) 6 scsi disks (including a bootdisk) and an IDE drive (hdd).
DVD drive and CDrecorder work fine for Data Cds (and the bruner will happily burn), but I am unable to play audio CDs on either of them
I get errors like this:

cdparanoia also refuses to read the CDs.
On a different suse 8.2 box eveything is hunky-dory.
Under suse 7.3 the same machine worked just fine
