Upgraded to Suse 8.2, can no longer play audioCDs
I've did a (clean) install of suse 8.2 on my box This bbox has a dvd drive, a cdrecorder (hda and hdb aka sr0) 6 scsi disks (including a bootdisk) and an IDE drive (hdd). DVD drive and CDrecorder work fine for Data Cds (and the bruner will happily burn), but I am unable to play audio CDs on either of them I get errors like this: Jun 25 11:23:51 hyperion kernel: hda: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveR eady SeekComplete Error } Jun 25 11:23:51 hyperion kernel: hda: packet command error: error=0xb0 Jun 25 11:23:51 hyperion kernel: ATAPI device hda: Jun 25 11:23:51 hyperion kernel: Error: Aborted command -- (Sense key=0x0b) Jun 25 11:23:51 hyperion kernel: (reserved error code) -- (asc=0x4b, ascq=0x00 ) Jun 25 11:23:51 hyperion kernel: The failed "Read CD" packet command was: Jun 25 11:23:51 hyperion kernel: "be 04 00 00 00 1b 00 00 08 f8 00 00 " cdparanoia also refuses to read the CDs. On a different suse 8.2 box eveything is hunky-dory. Under suse 7.3 the same machine worked just fine Kind regards, -- Gerhard den Hollander Phone :+31-10.280.1515 ICT manager Direct:+31-10.280.1539 Jason Geosystems BV Fax :+31-10.280.1511 gdenhollander@jasongeo.com POBox 1573 visit us at http://www.jasongeo.com 3000 BN Rotterdam JASON.......#1 in Reservoir Characterization The Netherlands This e-mail and any attachment is/are intended solely for the named addressee(s) and may contain information that is confidential and privileged.

Have you guys tried alsaplayer? My kscd won't play audio CD's either (it runs, and the light is blinking and everything is working as it should, just no sound), so I tried alsaplayer, and it works fine.
