About Tripwire itself, you need first to "compile" the config file into a binary, encrypted format. For more details, see /usr/share/doc/packages/tripwire/.

And for the kppp problem, did you su and then chmod 4755 kppp ? This fixed the problem for 3 or 4 uf us some time back. John - -- I needed fresh bugs for my SuSE gecko, and Linux penguin.
