You might have an easier time of it if you connected the printer to your machine and setup CUPS so that it lets her machine print to yours. Just a thought.
I thought the same thing. The problem is the printer is her company's and she uses the scanning function quite often. If it's connected to mine, she can't scan. I had it connected to a print server on our cable router, and that worked fine. Then she needed to start scanning.
