I have SuSE 8.2 installed and I am trying to copy a data CD, I can do a single cd drive copy with no problem, but can't seem to get my dvd/cd drive to be the source in a 2 drive copy using k3b has anyone tried this ?
it is probably becuase the dvd/cd drive is not using the ide-scsi driver. either tell the kernel to use ide-scsi for that device, or use xcdroast. there is a new version of cdrecord with 8.2 that can use ide cd drives without the scsi emulation. unfortunately, most of the cd recording software which acts as a frontend to cdrecord (like k3b) hasn't been updated to work with the ide drives yet. according to a message on the k3b-user list, version .9 of k3b will support the newer cdrecord (whenever they decide to release it - the post was on may 2) -- trey
