Same results with me, try using xcdroast instead. Ken Schneider

The CD to be copied shouldn't be mounted... dk -- David "Dunkirk" Krider, http://www.davidkrider.com Acts 17:28, "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being." Linux: Will you use the power for good... or for AWESOME?

it is probably becuase the dvd/cd drive is not using the ide-scsi driver. either tell the kernel to use ide-scsi for that device, or use xcdroast. there is a new version of cdrecord with 8.2 that can use ide cd drives without the scsi emulation. unfortunately, most of the cd recording software which acts as a frontend to cdrecord (like k3b) hasn't been updated to work with the ide drives yet. according to a message on the k3b-user list, version .9 of k3b will support the newer cdrecord (whenever they decide to release it - the post was on may 2) -- trey
