Thank you very much for the address. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to tackle my problem ; the programme at that web-site is designed to test the wheel mechanism of the M-S48. The problem I am having is that the mouse actually points at a spot to the right of where its action is effective. I have tried all the possibilities in the YAST menu ; on some of them, it works for a while and then slips over to the right again. I think I had better offer it a decent funeral and replace.
