Hi, I did everything you told me and I can't print from computer that is running XP. I tried using a computer with windows 98 and it works. Is there a way to make computer running XP to print to a linux computer? Or what I am doing wrong Jose LinuxWorld999 wrote: On Friday 18 April 2003 02:46, Jose Sanchez wrote:
Hi, I thinks that is what I am missing, because now I can see the printer in Windows XP but when I send the print command nothing happends, and I have cups installed. What should I change there and where is this cupsd.conf file located?
Jose
<snip> The file is located in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf. I have attached my sample file with this email. Load it into kwrite and search for "192.168". This should bring you the only line ammded in the stantard cupsd.conf file. Change the line "allow from 192.168.0.*" in <location> tags to match your network address. Restart cups and samba and 30 seconds later the printer should be visible on the network. LW999
