AFAIK they're both IDE-drives. Although they do show up under the scsi header (as well as under the CDROM header) in YaST's hardware detection: CD-ROM: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1610A bus: SCSI CD type: cdrom Device name: /dev/sr0 Vendor: E-IDE driver: ide-scsi So I assume it's an IDE device with SCSI emulation (required for Xcdroast)
CD-writer: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1610A bus: SCSI CD type: cdrw Device name: /dev/sr1 Vendor: PLEXTOR driver: ide-scsi
btw, is there a way to get the hardware-detection output to file? It would be nice not to have to run the detection every time you want to look something up... Check, if they have been recognized multiple times. Type as root: "cdrecord --scanbus". What's your cd-rom?
