I'm running SuSE 8.1, and are installing VMware.
But I get this error about "C". How can I find where "C" is placed ?.
Argument "gcc (GCC) 3" isn't numeric in numeric ge (>=) at /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl line 1493, <STDIN> line 1. What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]
Two things: - - Do you really need to recompile everything? The VMWare provided by SuSE is precompiled correctly. - - The message above is asking for the C headers. The ones provided by libc library are in package glibc-devel (installed in /usr/include) and the ones provided by the kernel are in package kernel-source (installed in /usr/src/linux/include). If you want the kernel libraries, you may need to run the command "make dep" in /usr/src/linux before using them. - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE90lw7v1vqsTa1E4oRAtyaAJ9HvvdvaLQFq9royakNFJbc8Us9eACfWJAh CsuzE9JoCusjnjWpGMcO/7Q= =1x7P -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
