I think you may have misunderstood my message. I think SuSE 8.1 if very good and the new Yast is also very good. I did not even have to edit any files or anthing for the Nvidia card which I have had to do in 7.3 and 8.0. Overall, 8.1 is fantastic. It is hard for even Windows to beat it now. I have three applications, one at home that I run under Win4Lin and two at work, that prevents me from eliminating Microsoft completely from my computers. The problem with Opera was a minor one and was caused by me not checking the DVD first before installing from the rpm that I had previously downloaded. Suse definitely deserves a contragutations on this new version.

Art , I agree with you completely. My previous answer was an obviously failed attempt at a little sarcastic humor. I started with 6.3 way back when and it was a real struggle. 8.0 was a breeze and 8.1 is even easier, if you dont try to outsmart Yast. My next task is to remove all my windows stuff to a spare hard drive and go Linux solo on my main machine. I'll have one machine with windows in case I have to go back for some reason. I really do miss those reboots, though! Richard
