See below for original post. I'm going to try an NFS install from my HP pc once I get it setup properly, but this is not a long range solution, especially if my target box is at a remote site w/ no connection from the outside.

So yast didn't get up early this morning and make your breakfast - bad luck. I had to reinstall Windows last night, 23 reboots and four hours later I'm still nowhere near a working system, cf. the suse 8.0 install which was like a beautiful dream experienced on a sunny beach by comparison.
I don't want it to make my breakfast. I just want it to work as
advertised.
For me it's been just the opposite. I have two brand new machines w/ no
OS on either. I've reinstalled Suse at least 10 times on each trying to
get a complete install. I took one of the machines and a w2k install
went in perfectly the first time.
I posted the problem (see below) with no response. I've sent in a
ticket to SUSE - same result - no responses.
If I weren't already working on 2 other projects (other than the one I'm
trying to install Linux for) I'd get in and hack Yast2 to make it work.
But I don't have time for this.
I guess you get what you pay for.
