cardmgr is the PCMCIA card manager. If you don't have a laptop or a PCMCIA reader, then you don't need to worry about it. "[556]" is probably just the PID of the process. If you don't have, need, or want PCMCIA support, then you can uninstall the pcmcia package using: rpm -e pcmcia If you do need it, then check out the man page of cardmgr and cardctl (the are both part of the pcmcia subsystem): man cardmgr man cardctl I think the SuSE manuals talk about PCMCIA too, but I don't have any near me to check right now.
