This I understand. In some ways, I am tempted to upgrade to 8, but when I see the problems people have experienced on the list, I can't really bring myself to it. After all, I haven't yet gotten 7.3 working the way I want yet and being a newbie, I would need a serious newbie guide before I attempted the upgrade as is for 8. Maybe 8.1 will be a smoother upgrade?
Too bad about the 7.3 RPMs, it would have made life a lot easier for me .-( Well, all I can say at this point is that the jury is still out as to what kind of printer I will get.
Cheers,
Brian ======================== Brian, I think you will find and most here using 8.0 will agree, the printer drivers included with 8.0 are much better than 7.3! I think you will also find that for the most of us that have upgraded to 8.0, even the ones that have had minor problems, we wouldn't go back! It is a worthwhile upgrade and better suited to newbies than previous versions. Whatever printer you decide on, wheither HP or Epson, you will be satisfied with in SuSE 8! My printing on the HP960Cse printer with 8.0 was a major change in speed and quality!
