Hi
I'm new to Linux & SuSE and am having problems getting the mouse, a Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse, to work in SuSE. I have tried editing XF86Config without success and have now downloaded a replacement driver. Unfortunately I can't complete the SuSE configuration until I can get the mouse working, so I cant get access the Internet in SuSE as I need to configure Samba to access my proxy server. The replacement mouse driver is a tar of 1.7Mb and on one of my Windows drives on the dual boot WinME SuSE 8.0 system.
So can someone help me to access the tar in SuSE from Windows and then advise how I install the driver?

Keith, I am going to ask the stupid questions, since I am still a newbie too ;o), just to check your progress so far in getting the mouse to work. I am going to assume you have just did a fresh install of 8.0 as a dual boot setup, right? YES! Is the mouse a usb type cordless? Does it use IR or radio control type? RADIO! SuSE 8.0 did not set it up on install or was it added later? No it was installed by SuSE and worked fine during the installation and whilst I navigated around to see what was available but I did not edit anything, just looked. Then after re-booting the mouse just stayed stuck in the middle of the screen. Regards Keith Jacobs
