Yes Jul, might be true, but since Stanislav is from Poland (at least I think so by his name and top-level-domain .pl), I'd rather recommend a central European mirror, such as ftp://ftp.gwdg.de which is located only a few houndred kilometers west, in Goettingen / Germany ... I use this mirror, normally, and it uses my 64 kbit/s ISDN almost to 100% when I dl stuff from there, and it's really fast when I connect from office. Cheers ....
