It is sometimes frustrating to see problems, but not be able to follow the progress of their resolution. AFAIK there is not 'standard' way to report a bug, much less follow up on one, or determine if the bug is already reported. I have found such systems invaluable as an SA running a large network. It may be hard to put in place and get people to use it, but once it is in place, it makes everything much smoother, and saner.
