I have it in my boot.local as well. Windows as far back as 95 has a "Low Power Standby" feature for all monitors, and you can set a time. This puts the monitor in that mode, judging from the orange flashing light on my monitor. Is there an equivalent for Linux? A util, maybe? You don't need APM for this because I have it turned off on this machine and it still works fine. On 16 Sep 2001, Mikke Mattsson wrote:

Put it in one of the startupscripts and you'll never have a blanked console again. :) -- noodlez: Karol Pietrzak PGP KeyID: 0x3A1446A0
