If you mean the mail isn't delivered - what makes you think it has something
to do with the virus scanner? Did the mailsending work before you installed
the virus scanner? I don't run Amavis now but used to and it didn't seem to
make any difference to whether the mail was sent or delivered. I seem to
remember that mail with a virus in was put into a file somewhere - check the
documentation as to where. Maybe your setup is incorrect and all your mail
is being sent there! But check for a simpler solution first.

Subject: [SLE] Help with Amavis / Antivir
Can you help a complete newbie using Suse 7.2
I have installed both of the above and am trying to get them to to run. In
the documentation for Amavis, it details modifications to sendmail.cf thus:-
Mlocal, P=/usr/sbin/amavis, F=lsDFMAw5:/|@qSPfhn09, S=EnvFromL/HdrFromL,
R=EnvToL/HdrToL,
T=DNS/RFC822/X-Unix,
A=amavis -a $h -d $u
This I have done, ran newalias, I have also checked the /usr/sbin/amivis
file
and it appears to be configured correctly.
When sending a test mail (or any mail), I get a nice "beep" and mail
disappears into a black hole.
What Have I missed?
Any help greatly appreciated.
