OK, I get:
ADDRESS TEST MODE (ruleset 3 NOT automatically invoked) Enter <ruleset> <address>
map_lookup: host (sirius.com) sirius.com: Name server timeout

But, nslookup shows me the following:
Server: ns3.texas.net Address: 207.207.0.3
Non-authoritative answer: Name: sirius.com Addresses: 205.134.253.131, 205.134.253.132
Does sendmail use a different nameserver than what I have in /etc/resolve.conf?
No, however it uses the authoritative answer, if not found, it errors. You can put this in your linux.mc:
define(`confBIND_OPTS', `-AAONLY ')dnl
or check sendmail.rc.config for an option there, not sure about that one.
ALSO-- how did you make it so I could read your message -- your email address was one of the ones rejected in the past!
Because it came straight from me probably, not from suse, like this one...
Actually, I guess I was wrong about one thing -- the log message doesn't mean that the message was rejected. I am getting your messages (two copies each, one directly to me and one via suse) and I am also getting messages in the log about the lookup failure. -- ____________________________________________________________________ Robert Paulsen paulsen@texas.net
