I recommend Dell. I've received extremely good service on their products, and everything you can expect to work works. Just make sure to choose the non-integrated options on the Dimension L series or go for the slightly more expensive 4100 series. Not all of their components work in Linux, but most of their systems have available options to insure 100% Linux compatability.
I had a Dell once. Worked quite well. But never try to upgrade anything or you're in trouble. The motherboard would only work with two certified SDRAM modules (try to find these 2 years after bying the machine...). I finally found a shop that had these modules---for 2.5 times the price a normal one would have cost. Then I wanted to build in a new motherborad. I got an Asus P5?, built it in and everything fit nicely---until I wanted to connect the cables for the on/off switch, reset, and the LEDs on the tower's front. Dell doesn't use the standard cables everyone else uses, no they have cables that only fit on their cases, so I had to buy a new tower :-( Ciao, Stefan -- Stefan Troeger o _ _ _ stefan@troeger.st __o __o /\_ _ \\o (_)\__/o (_) _`\<, _`\<, _>(_) (_)/<_ \_| \ _|/' \/ (_)/(_) (_)/(_) (_) (_) (_) (_)' _\o_
