Rafael, i read your recent reply about the NFS problem with the 2.4.3 kernel,
It's not a problem with the kernel. The 'rpc.lockd' daemon is not necessary under 2.4, so it's not necessary to run it.

If you are using NFS, you have to edit /etc/rc.d/nfsserver to read:
echo -n "Starting kernel based NFS server" if [ "'kernelversion'" == "2.2" ] ; then checkproc -n lockd || \ /usr/sbin/rpc.lockd fi
is this ALL that should be in the file, or should it be pasted into a specific location?
No, don't just paste it, either. Locate the line with "checkproc -n lockd || /usr/sbin/rpc.lockd" or similar line in the file /etc/rc.d/nfsserver and edit it so it is surrounded by the if statement like the above. -- Rafael
