I tried hard to make Linux client with kernel 2.4.2 (SuSE 7.1) write to NFS share exorted from Solaris 2.5 box. Sheesh! I don't see that the problem has been addressed in 2.4.3. When kernel 2.2.18 is booted on the same machine there is not a sign of any problem writing to the same share. So if you don't have to write to Solaris NFS shares, yes, this change in nfsserver is enough. -Kastus On Sun, Apr 29, 2001 at 11:17:20PM -0400, Donald G. Knecht wrote:
Rafael, i read your recent reply about the NFS problem with the 2.4.3 kernel,
you wrote:
"If you are using NFS, you have to edit /etc/rc.d/nfsserver to read:
echo -n "Starting kernel based NFS server" if [ "'kernelversion'" == "2.2" ] ; then checkproc -n lockd || \ /usr/sbin/rpc.lockd fi "
is this ALL that should be in the file, or should it be pasted into a specific location? -don
