Hello Shane, There should be some help for these problems on Linuxcare's site. Try http://www.linuxcare.com/labs/ They probably haven't evaluated the systems for SuSE 7.1 yet. See what you can find from their certifications under SuSE 7.0.
I was initailly hoping to use my WinModem but after reading the list for some time decided that configuring it was beyond my current level of expertise, so I purchased yesterday a 56K V.90 External voice/fax/data modem. My winmodem was still trying to use IRQ 11 however
If I recall correctly, there is a driver for the winmodems in these machines. It may not yet be publicly available.
Using Yast I tried to get the system to find the modem by looking on the Modem file under devices then tty0-3 I tried to use wvdial to connect to the internet and then I was going to configure Kmail to receive my email from my ISP,
Try wvdialconf.
The modem and Printer are all I need to be happy using Linux and to allow for me to finally get rid of windows.
What kind of a printer do you have? There are a few out there which don't work under Linux. -- David Benfell benfell@parts-unknown.org --- Resume available at http://www.parts-unknown.org/resume.html
