I also get RealPlayer 8 to run, but I get an error message that it cannot open the audio device, because it is perhaps used by another application. I cannot figure out what audio device it is looking for. On Sat, 7 Apr 2001, Mark Hounschell wrote:

SuSE 7.1. I installed the rpm version of RealPlayer 7 Basic with Package Manager. It seemed to install OK. When the install was finished I got the Welcome message, all looked like it installed correctly. But then when I ran realplay in a terminal, all I got was the RealPLayer wndow with a few of the buttons, but that's all, nothing else, it just froze right there. I couldn't close the window by clicking on the X on the window. I had to use the Process Manager to kill it. Has anybody gotten RealPlayer to work in SuSE 7.1?
No but RealPlayer 8 seems to work just fine.
