Volume is high. No doubt. I have no trouble with that, but I guess people with dial-up connections spend a *lot* of time downloading mail? But then again I know that I, for one, enjoy having posts about everything dropping in my mail, so I can benefit from other's experiences/solutions. Personally I've solved some troubles on my systems from other's postings, and volume accounts for most of it...:-) Anyway my .02$: What I really miss is a 'next by thread' function in the archives. As it is browsing the archives involves always loading the main (montly) index which, by the end of the month, takes forever (and I'm on DSL). So if I'm looking for info on some subject I must: - open the index - Search the index for candidate subjects - go to the message, read it, if no help I must - return to index - go to next message, read it, if no help I must - return to index - go to next message, read it, if no help I must and so on What I mean to say is that, as it is the archive isn't very *browsable*, and IMHO adding this feature would not only make it more comfortable, it would also more easily let people go check the archives for stuff, thus negating the *need* for downloading the large amounts of mail, and ultimately solve this thread...? Other than that, I agree with Jonathan Wilson: "[SLE] [SUGGESTION] Re: [SLE] This list is too busy: any improvements on the horizon?" This would be very nice indeed! Eo.02$ Jon Clausen
