I have found on the SuSE ftp site, under SuSE 7.0 kernel section, the file kdflt_24_2.4.2-4.i386.rpm. I am downloading it as I type. This looks like it ought to be a 2.4.2 kernel for 7.0 (though I do not know what the "24" refers to), and I wonder whether the rpm also contains a fix for the pppd problem.
the _24 is part of the package name: kdflt_24
Has anyone installed this kernel and/or can anyone advise me whether it fixes the pppd problem and generally as to the best way to go about installing it whilst still being able to retreat to my existing (hard won), setup if anything goes wrong ?
WHAT ppp problem
