The linux version is beta, has no java (IIRC), has no email client, and the preferences don't work properly. For payware I expect better than that.
You don't pay for this (beta) release for Linux. It is a 30 day shareware licence (with nag screen on boot). The options will be the same as for MS version - free with ad banner, or $US39 minus the ad.
I can't see a huge advantage of opera over konqueror. A few drawbacks in konqueror will be fixed soon. The development speed of opera doesn't appear to be neckbreaking.
Now the Win version is complete, most of the development effort is going into Linux / Mac versions. If however opera had been onto it and had
a fine polished web browser now(!), it'd be worth money. As is, EUR40 for a stripped down beta is over the top.
They do have " a fine polished web browser now"!
As I said earlier, you don't pay for the beta!

How do I know? Because no Microsoft
products were used to generate it!
