Speculations do happen at times. To all those to whom it applies "my apologies".
Yes, that's all it was - it was implied in something someone said, and it kind of snowballed... As I mentioned before in a previous message, SuSE is modularising the functionality of YaST{1|2}, including the frontend so in future there will be no difference - you just choose which frontend you want. I may just mention this thread to the folks at feedback@suse.de, since there's some interesting comments that I think should count as 'feedback' about where people *think* SuSE is going. I think it's time we put this thread to rest. ;-)
This is what happens when you jump into the middle of a thread full of bad news:(

Could someone who has been paying attention to this thread tell me which SuSE Employee said Yast1 was going away or where this has been published. This is news to me and seems to be more then speculation for discussion and a waste of valuable bandwidth and time.
Will you confirm then Ben that Suse will continue for the foreseaable future to maintain yast1, and to upgrade it's functionality as appropriate in future releases of Suse ?
