It installs a great many things you will most likely never use and services that you won't use..and to keep track of all of that is a pain and a security risk. Install the software you are going to use ... -->A) ALSA failed I have had no issues w/ the 4 different cards I have setup using alsa, so I would look at the hardware/software configurations of your machine. -->B) Netscape crashed every time I put the cursor in the location field -->and hit the any key. It is in the readme on the suse ftp site when you download 4.01 that the wrapper script for Netscape that comes with 7.0 breaks horribly when you upgrade. It is best to execute Netscape directly from it's directory.. -->E) jpegs were broken Well, if you use beta software such as KDE2 and it makes changes to the default system then if it breaks ... it's not really a SuSE 7.0 issue ;) I have been running 7.0 here at work on 3 machines I personally deal with since the 2nd release candidate and jpegs work fine. The other issues I am not versed in enough to comment... -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ------------------------- Warning to the Human Race: Objects in mirror are dumber than they appear. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
