Hi all, I have an ASUS A7V motherboard, that comes with an onboard PCI Bus Master IDE controller with two connectors that support four ATA100 devices. UltraDMA/100, UltraDMA/66, UltraDMA/33, PIO Modes 3&4 are supported. Promise PCI-ATA100 Support: Provides optional support to PCI-ATA100 controller to provide Ultra DMA/100 solutions. HDD is an Seagate Barracuda ATA-II. The problem: =========== I can't use my HDD via ATA port. If I connect the hard disk into IDE, all is ok, but speed ... . There is any possibility to use ATA connector and to use SuSE 7.0 ? In Windows there are available drivers but ... I hate Bill Gate. I tried to use Ultra66 driver but I'm not so experienced in such devices. Can somebody help me ? The kernel which I use is 2.2.16 but I tried 2.2.14 too.
