How did you do that? I can do nada whith my reiserfs-partitions (all but /boot) using the SuSE 6.4 rescue system. It always wants to fsck which it can't. That's why I made / an ext2fs-partition today on my son's computer.

Presumably reiserfs isn't compiled in. I have the same problem on a Mandrake 7.1 box I'm playing with - their 2.2.16 upgrade completely freaks the system because it's incomplete and doesn't support resier, so it can't mount / 'cos its a reiser ptn. Had to rescue it with a Suse CD :)

has anyone else had trouble using the lx_suse.rpm for 2.2.16 with an already installed reiserfs on the root device? mine panics every time i try to boot it....
I installed it only to get vmware working again, but I'm using the new 2.2.16 SuSE provided kernel to run the system.
What's your boot situation? You know, scsi, ide, cdrom, etc?
If you're booting to scsi, did you mk_initrd before you rebooted?
