I have a machine that dual-boots sue linux and windows 98. My housemate uses windows to download mp3s from napster. I challenged him to see if it would work in linux. Well i downloaded a file or two, and they sounded broken and crackly etc in xmms, but the same files sound ok in windows, winamp. The sound in this machine is on the motherboard, a Crystal PnP, and i use the driver that comes with the kernel, just uncommented that part in the config file. Streaming audio from a radio station sounds fine in realplayer, but mp3s sound equally bad as in xmms. What should i do to improve the quality of mp3s in linux? -- Bob Rea Freedom is only privilege extended unless enjoyed by one and all --Billy Bragg rear@sirius.com rrea@askjeeves.com http://www.sirius.com/~rear -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
