You will have to load the special modules for these soundcard based cdroms. Another floppy is needed. "modules"
Funn!!
Umm, that now is a problem, I don't think I sent him the modules disk and I think I have lost it. Best try and find me it thinks, would the 6.3 modules disk work.
No, it won't, but that shouldn't be a problem. All your friend has to do is look on the first SuSE CDROM - in the disks directory he should find a disk image for the modules disk (and all other disks). All that then needs to be done is to use 'dd' (under Linux) or 'rawrite' (under DOS - it's on the CDs) to write the disk image to a blank floppy.
Thanks, I will forward him your message and if he gets going will mail the result back to the list.
I hope the rest of the install goes OK,
Working out howto get the CD to the laptop which aint got a CD-R. Still it will keep me happy for a few days :)
Do you have a network card in the laptop? If you do, I found the easiest way was via an NFS install (after I eventually got around to putting a second network card in my PC for the internal network...). It's a simple case of hook 'em up, edit /etc/exports on the host, start the NFS server, and install away ;-) Have fun, Chris -- __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
