I believe the cron entry for mail is MAIL = username Clifford ...Well, I know we're dying and there's no sign of a parachute... Tori Amos On Tue, 16 May 2000, Kev Jackson wrote:
I just set up an alias in /etc/alias
root: your@email.address, \root
(Remember to escape the root!)
then run
newaliases
Now you get Roots emails - which is what, by default cron sends output to. There is another option, in /etc/cronttab - mailto: your@email.address but I've never got this working!!

Hi
I have a crontab entry that backs up all my customised configuration, but how to make crontab send me an email with the output of the scripts crontab runs? I guess I have to pipe it in some way but I'm not sure how.
Thanx for any help.
Chris
