File this under stupid/newbie questions: I'm running 6.2--I would like to upgrade to at least 6.3 or even 6.4 (I'm interested in checking out Helix-Gnome and know that 6.3 is what is supported). Is it easier to just get a CD from CheapBytes (or LSL) and let the install overwrite all the core packages, or should I ftp specific packages and install from root? The underlying question is this: when I use a CD of just the OS (a la LSL), what gets overwritten besides core packages? Do I need to backup my desktop and restore it after the install? And what *isn't* on the cheap CDs that I would want to purchase a full upgrade? Thanx for putting up with the newbie... ;-> -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
