Hi, I have the exact same configuration and have had no problems with it. Bad points... No UDMA66 and only 1Mb Cache, and support from Soyo has stopped for this board (i.e. no more BIOS updates). The only concern I have with it is the positioning of the CPU socket. Why mobo manufacturers keep sticking it down behind the PCI slots is beyond me. If you have any fairly long cards then it makes it difficult to get things to fit, never mind the possibility of noise being radiated onto graphics cards etc... Good points.. just one I can think of, it does take power from an ATX or AT power supply. This allowed me to step up to a 300W ATX PSU ready for an Athlon (or at least an ATX mobo) sometime later on. Hope thats of help. If possible I would stay away from the AT board, and try and move to an ATX. If I remember rightly Soyo have an ATX version of the board. If I had my choice again I would probably go for the Tyan Trinity S1598-C2 mobo, which has UDMA66 and 2Mb Cache. RikD tabanna wrote:
Hi SuSErs :)
~ am about to try an AMD K6/2 ~ my local retailer tries to sell me a SOYO 5EHM MoBo
I have had a look at the SuSE Hardware Database, but cannot see this Soyo Model . . . any views, please, about SOYO Motherboards in general, and SOYO 5EHM MoBo in particular ?
