Not So , I have Dial up with netcom and can access the internet under linux , no problems. You will need a modem suported by linux , ie no winmodems , then install and setup wvdial for dial up access. Then use netscape ect... You can set up a linux baox with wvdial (use the german sight script) and ipmasq and use it as a gateway so all your toher boxes can access the internet by going throgh the linux ip masq box. Others are using DSL and CABLE MODEMS with linux as well. Post more info and I am sure somne one here can help/ At 12:21 PM 5/4/2000 -0000, B.Rumsey wrote:
I have been told by my isp that iI can't run linux on my new internet connection because their are no drivers for linux. What I want to know is , is it possible to run NT4 as the Inertnet connection and server for the other 5 computers (windoze98) and have suse 6.4 as the web server and mail server. As I am sort of new to in house networking are there any recomened books and howtos I should read.
