I've done that option and it works flawlessly on my system. Can't remember where I got the patch, http://opensource.creative.com/ possibly, but I would be happy to supply it to anyone interested. Anyway, with that option, just compile it into the kernel or as a module with the following in conf.modules <snip> #***************************************************************************** # module : emu10k1.o Creative EMU10K1 drivers # Also needed for SB Live # # Documentation available in /usr/src/linux/drivers/sound/emu10k1.c (search # for MODULE_PARM) and in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/sound/emu10k1 . This # chip is often used together with other sound hardware. # # Possible configuration : alias char-major-14 emu10k1 # Uncomment the following if kernel is compiled with version info # pre-install emu10k1 insmod soundcore # post-remove emu10k1 rmmod soundcore </snip> Of course all you really need is the alias char-major-14 line, but I added the rest so it was clear to me and whomever I share with. jo> I'm fairly sure they're installed by default, but best to check. jo> jo> J jo> -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - www.primenet.com/~tomas SuSE Linux v6.3+ - Kernel 2.2.14 Bell Labs Unix -- Reach out and grep someone. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
