Hi,
Didn't M$ invested in Borland, some couple of months ago ?
Yes $150 Million, but the official line was that this was for outstanding patent issues (MS stole RAD issue), and licensing of Borland 'technologies' for Windows (Borland do COM better than MS). But MS still ended up with 10% shares. Which means that MS will own about 5% of Corel, so in a round about sort of way MS is now distributing Linux. Mind you because of this merger Corel now has an Operating system, Office Suite, Development tools (c++/Delphi/Java), Middleware technologies (VisiBroker CORBA, AppServer), Databases etc. all of which will be available on Linux, if not already, in a few months. Another MS in the making?
