Is there a possibility to run several X-sessions at the same time? I want my regular 1440x1080x32bbp running at the same time as a 800x600x8bpp Can it be done? There sure is. Configure X (XF86Config) with XF86Setup or a similar program to include the resolutions you want. Then start x like this 'startx -- :z -bppy', where y is an integer not used by a running X-server (look for lock files in /tmp) and y is 8 or 32.
