trying to install the 10.2 RC by the net I noticed some problems: * I couldn't acheive the install, the downloading of the system stuck at 15% (approx) - only for the record, no aswer expected here * the wiki gives the web page with the url of the inst-source, but ** Yast asks for the IP of the server. this is not so easy to find. one must open an xterm, make a ping to the server url... this is quite natural for linux (is it?) but for windows users seeking for linux it's absolutely unusable. we shoulkd have some way to give the IP in a small popup ** I got from the web page an URL "http://ftp.opensuse.org/...." I mostly got the "ftp" part so, in yast asked for "ftp" install. Nothing happen then, but a stuck window "calling ftp server", so I noticed than, even named "ftp.opensuse.org", the server servez http protocol, and with choosing http from yast, it at least tried to dl the system... in fact when yast is in ftp mode, it tries to connect to the server first (before asking for the directory) and fail jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/mediawiki/index.php/GPS_Lowrance_GO --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
